Sports Rehabilitation
Sports rehabilitation is treatment aimed at getting an athlete back to a specific sport or lift, not just back to daily activity.
We work with athletes across American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, Highland, Alpine, and Lindon, including CrossFit competitors, weightlifters, wrestlers, runners, and cyclists who've already tried something that didn't get them all the way back.
Why We Measure Before We Treat an Athlete
A stretch sheet or a generic return-to-play protocol doesn't tell you why one shoulder tests weaker than the other, or why a squat pattern breaks down under load.
We run dynamometer strength testing that returns a percentile against your age group, HumanTrak 3D motion capture, and video analysis of your own lift, run, or throw. You see the same numbers we see, and your plan gets built around what they show.
What's Included
- 01
Strength testing to find side-to-side deficits a pain scale can't catch.
- 02
Motion capture and video analysis of the actual movement you're trying to get back, whether that's a squat, a throw, or a gait pattern.
- 03
Manual therapy, including joint mobilization, Graston, spinal manipulation, and dry needling, chosen based on what the testing found.
- 04
Therapeutic exercise and movement re-education built around your sport, not a generic template.
- 05
A home program in the app, progressed as your numbers improve.
Conditions We Treat
Shoulder instability and impingement, low back pain in lifters, knee pain including meniscus and ligament issues, Achilles and calf injuries, hip and groin strain, and post-surgical return-to-sport cases. Each one gets tested before it gets a plan, because the same complaint can have a different cause from one athlete to the next.
When I came in with a lower back injury I couldn't bend over or even lift much off the ground. I wasn't effective at work and couldn't do what I love to do, in training Crossfit every day. After two days a week for two months of work with Scott and Erin, I'm more mobile than ever. My performance is three times better than before the injury and I'm starting to reach goals that I set two years ago. This is by far the best physical therapy duo around. Thanks Scott and Erin!!
Who Treats You
Scott Christensen, DPT, certified in trigger point dry needling and completing an orthopedic fellowship through Regis University, runs your evaluation and stays on your case through discharge. You're not handed to a different provider mid-plan.
Return to Sport, Not Just Return to Function
Discharge here means the activity is back, not just that pain is down. We measure against the specific movement you named at your evaluation, whether that's a bench press personal record, a pain-free overhead lift, or a return to sparring, and we track your numbers against that target until you're there.
Know What's Wrong and What's Next
No guessing, no generic exercise sheet. Just a measured answer and a plan with your name on it.
