Softwave Tissue Regeneration

Softwave is a regenerative shockwave treatment we add to a plan of care when testing shows it's the right fit for the tissue involved, never sold on its own as a walk-in special.

Elsewhere in this market, Softwave gets sold as a standalone modality, priced by the session, with no diagnosis attached. Here it's a treatment the evaluation leads to, tied to a specific finding and a specific plan.

What It Is

Softwave uses acoustic shockwave energy delivered through a handheld applicator directly to the skin over the treatment area. Those waves pass into the underlying tissue and are thought to stimulate the body's own repair mechanisms, including increased blood flow and cellular activity at the site of chronic injury or degeneration.

Unlike treatments aimed at short-term pain relief, Softwave is used for tissue that has stopped healing on its own, often after months or years of a problem that hasn't responded to other approaches. It's typically added once other elements of a plan of care are already underway and testing confirms the tissue is a candidate for it.

What to Expect

Sessions are brief, and pressure at the treatment site can range from mild to noticeably uncomfortable depending on how chronic and how deep the affected tissue is. We tell you what the sensation will feel like before we start and adjust intensity based on how you respond. There's no downtime, and most patients resume normal activity the same day.

What We Use It For

Softwave is used for chronic tendon issues, long-standing low back pain, and cases that haven't responded to more conservative treatment over an extended period.

How It Fits Into Your Plan of Care

Softwave is chosen the same way every treatment here is chosen, based on what your evaluation finds and where the rest of your plan hasn't produced the progress the numbers say it should. It's never the reason someone books a first visit, and it's never sold without an evaluation behind it.
